Glenhaven Gardens Aged Care Project
This project is an example of a “green field” site project. It required a full range of feasibility, research and master planning services. Even before design for the site was commenced, Aibee Architects co-ordinated specialist review of aspects such as;
+ Bushfire hazard assessment
+ Flora and Fauna studies
+ Site contamination testing and rectification
+ Traffic studies
+ Services availability and capital works costs.
Liaison with the surrounding community was also an important aspect of the project.
Design Solution
The project includes 24 generous self care units designed to be fully accessible and in compliance with the SEPP5. The units have a high quality of fixtures and finishes designed to suit the local market. Shared common room facilities are provided for the self care unit residents.
A two storey 60 bed aged care facility with two specialist dementia care units is also included in the development. The aged care facility incorporates an electronic patient management system along with high quality air conditioning which allows the temperature in each bedroom room to be individually adjusted.
Aibee Architects provided a total package of services for this project and has been an important part of achieving this dream the for client committee.
