Dayspring Christian Church
We were commissioned to examine the feasibility of church use of an existing industrial building prior to purchase. We then went on to provide design solutions to facilitate the relocation of a thriving church community into their own premises in a light industrial area at Castle Hill.
Design Solution
A brief existed from a previous study with the client for a long-term church campus. It was modified to suit short to medium term occupation of the proposed facility. Through close liaison with a working party from the church, design options were explored for the relocation. Several options were generated that reflected the church's desire for a modern and exciting facility.
The final project involved an extensive internal fitout of the existing industrial shell to incorporate a large auditorium, new entry foyer, cafe, bookshop, children’s ministry area and office accommodation. . Modifications were also made to the external treatment of the building and street frontage landscaping to provide an offer of invitation to enter the facility, and to completely revamp a dreary industrial building into a statement of the contemporary nature of this particular church community.
