Childhood Centre Projects
There has been an increasing need for child care centres in Australia. Aibee Architects has assisted a number of churches and Wyong Shire Council to complete child care centres over recent years.
The centres have focussed on providing a friendly domestic feel and have provided for all age groups of children. The buildings have been designed to incorporate appropriate passive child protection measures and other special requirements for the safety of children.
Design Solution
Aibee Architects is fully aware of the requirements of the Department of Community Services for child care centres, and works carefully with these in the design of all new centres. The practice has also been used by major child care providers to certify existing centres.
Some of the emphases of the practice have been to ensure that designs provide excellent indoor/outdoor relationship, have effective and direct circulation paths for staff and parents, and allow flexibility in the use of the centre, both within the day to day operation, and for other groups who share use of the facilities (such as churches and teaching institutions).
